If you have any information regarding this case, you are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 805-681-4150. To leave an anonymous tip, please call 805-681-4171.
The Sheriff’s Office wants to applaud the 13-year-old student for being aware of her surroundings, not falling for his attempts to get her into the vehicle and for reporting the incident right away.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds parents to teach their children to avoid walking alone and to never approach a vehicle or go near a car with someone in it. Also, they should never get into a car without your permission. Adults usually don’t ask children for directions. Tell your kids whose car they are allowed to ride in and that they should not listen to instructions that someone told them for you to pick them up. Always remember if you see something, say something.
