Sheriff's Bomb Squad Examines Suspicious Package Left in Front of Buellton Business
Buellton - April 4th, 2016
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies responded today, April 4, to a call of a suspicious package left in front of a business in Buellton located in the 200 block of E. Highway 246. An employee at the business discovered the package at approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning and called 911. When Sheriff’s deputies arrived, they determined the package was suspicious in nature and the Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was deployed. As a precautionary measure, all of the businesses in the building were evacuated.
The Sheriff’s Bomb Squad examined the package and at approximately 11:30 a.m. determined it was not an explosive device. Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information regarding the package or the circumstances will be released at this time.
