Compliance Check Reveals Weapons Violations

Update to previously reported news article which originated in the City of Lompoc
On May 10th at about 0900 hours, the Santa Barbara Probation Department requested assistance from the Compliance Response Team with a home visit at Gregory Jensen’s (55 years) residence, located in the 300 block of S. B St., Lompoc. Jensen is on felony probation for numerous violations, to include possession of an explosive device.
During the search of Jensen’s residence, officers located an object in Jensen’s residence that was initially suspected of being an explosive device. The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was requested. With the assistance from the Lompoc Police Department a protective perimeter was created. The Bomb Squad determined the suspected object was not an explosive device.
After a thorough search of the residence, additional contraband was found, including an inert military hand grenade, ammunition, a homemade “zip” gun, capable of firing the loaded shotgun shell, and Outlaw Motorcycle Gang indicia.
Jensen was placed under arrest for violating his probation with additional new charges of:
30305 PC Felon in possession of ammunition
29800(a) PC Felon in possession of a firearm
33600 PC Manufacture or possess a zip gun
We are submitting the following to the District Attorney’s Office for a criminal complaint:
19200(b) PC Gang member in possession of a replica grenade
186.22 PC Gang enhancement
The Compliance Response Team (CRT) is funded by realignment money distributed through the Community Corrections Partnership, a committee of various county law enforcement and judicial representatives. CRT consists of Sheriff Deputies, Probation Officers and a Lompoc Police Officer.
