Sheriff's Gang Enforcement Unit Arrests Gang Member for Threatning Santa Maria Police Officer
Santa Maria - May 31st, 2013
On Wednesday, May 29th, 2013, Detectives from the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office Gang Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation into allegations that 27 year old Jesse Contreras, a suspected gang member from Santa Maria, had made criminal threats against a Santa Maria Police Department Officer. Sheriff’s Gang Unit Detectives worked closely with the Santa Maria Police Department during the investigation.
At approximately 4:00 PM, officers from the Santa Maria Police Department located the suspect, Jesse Contreras, in the 300-block of North Broadway. Contreras was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Gang Unit Detectives and Santa Maria Police Department Officers.
Contreras was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for violations of 422 P.C. (Criminal Threat) and 186.22 P.C. (Gang Allegation). Bail was set at $150,000.00.
