Anonymous Email Leads to Stolen Gun and Almost A Half Pound of Methamphetamine

 

Santa Maria - August 16th, 2016


The Santa Barbara Sheriff Office received information from an anonymous citizen via the department’s email system, regarding a residence engaged in narcotics sales. Detectives conducted an investigation based on this tip.

 

On Monday, August 15, 2016 at about 0700 hours, Detectives from the Santa Barbara Sheriff Special Investigation Bureau and Compliance Response Team conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Crescent, in the unincorporated area of Santa Maria.

 

During the search of the residence, a loaded and stolen handgun was found unsecured in a bottom dresser drawer. Approximately 6.6 ounces of methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia, body armor and children’s clothing were all found in the same room. Evidence of marijuana usage was found throughout the house where an 18-month old child and an infant had access.

 

The residents were also engaged in a small marijuana growing operation, which was littered with children’s toys. There was evidence that residents had been discharging a firearm in the backyard.
Child Welfare Service responded and assisted with obtaining medical treatment for the two children residing in the residence.

 

The following individuals were arrested:

 

 Esteban Carrillo (35 years) 29800 PC- Felon in possession of a firearm 273a(a) PC- Felony child endangerment 496 PC- Possession stolen property 11378 H+S- Possession of sales of a controlled substance 30305 PC- Felon in possession of ammunition

 

 Rebecca Carrillo, Vanessa Guillen and Eli Guillen were each arrested for the following: 273a(a) PC- Felony child endangerment.
