Investigators Arrest Two Goleta Men and Seize More Than 20 Pounds of Methamphetamine

On September 20, 2016 investigators from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau, Santa Barbara Regional Crime Abatement Team and the California Department of Justice, concluded a five-month investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine. On this date, investigators negotiated for the purchase and delivery of 20 pounds of methamphetamine to a location within the City of Goleta.
After the negotiations, 27-year-old Guillermo Rea of Goleta and 36-year-old Victor Ruvalcaba-Romero, also of Goleta, delivered the methamphetamine to the 5800 block of Calle Real. Once they arrived, investigators observed the methamphetamine and arrested both Rea and Ruvalcaba-Romero. Investigators seized more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over $729,600.
Rea and Ruvalcaba-Romero were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for violation of 11379 H&S, Transportation and Sales of Methamphetamine and 11378 H&S, Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales.
