Isla Vista- November 9th, 2016

At approximately 2:00 p.m. today, November 9, 2016, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1000 block El Embarcadero near the 7-Eleven to a report of a man with a gun.  A witness reported seeing four males who were involved in a verbal dispute and were challenging each other to fight. One of the males reportedly backed away, lifted his shirt, removed a handgun out of his waistband and put it back in his waistband.

The witness reported seeing the four males get into a grey car and leave the area southbound on El Embarcadero.  He then saw the vehicle turn eastbound on Del Playa Drive and pull into a driveway. The witness did not stay in the area to direct responding units to the specific house and went to class.  Responding officers and deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or suspect(s).

The gun was described as a semi-automatic with a black handle and silver on top.  The suspect with the gun was described as a Hispanic male adult approximately six feet tall, 180-220 pounds with a buzz cut and brown hair. The suspect was wearing a grey oversized shirt and possibly blue jeans.
