Parole Search Leads to Discovery of Loaded Firearms and Methamphetamine

 

Santa Maria - December 22nd, 2016

 

On December 20, 2016, personnel from the Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau, Santa Barbara County’s Compliance Response Team, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and a K-9 agent with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, conducted a parole search at a residence in the 300 block of East Monroe Street in the City of Santa Maria.  During the search, investigators contacted and detained several subjects at the residence.  Inside the residence, investigators found two loaded shotguns, one being an illegal sawed-off shotgun, ammunition for various firearms, 11 grams of methamphetamine, less than a gram of heroin and evidence of narcotic sales. 

 

38-year-old Dustin Kinsey of Santa Maria was arrested and booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale with a firearm, possession of methamphetamine for sale, being a felon in possession of a firearm and a being a felon in possession of ammunition.  35-year-old Callie Jones of Santa Maria was arrested and booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of ammunition.

 

Investigators identified a third resident as being 30-year-old Christopher Jones who was not present at the time of the parole search.  A warrant has been issued for his arrest for being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale with a firearm and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
