Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting in Isla Vista that left one man seriously injured. On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 10:53 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 6500-block of Del Playa for a possible shooting. When deputies arrived, they found the adult male victim who had been shot in the upper torso. The victim was quickly transported to an area hospital while deputies attempted to identify and locate the shooter.

Deputies were unable to immediately locate the suspect and requested detectives and forensics technicians respond to continue the investigation.  This investigation is ongoing and the status of the victim is unclear. The suspect remains outstanding.
