Sheriff’s Office Welcomes Four New Employees and Congratulates Seven Promotees

Santa Barbara, Calif. – On Monday, February 6, 2023, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office welcomed four new employees and congratulated seven employees on their promotions. In a ceremony held in the Board of Supervisors’ Hearing Room, attended by family, friends and colleagues, Sheriff Brown introduced the newest Sheriff’s Office team members; Communications Dispatcher Cynthia Cervantes, Administrative Office Professional Mariana Palos-Godoy, Correctional Counselor Donna Kall, and Correctional Counselor Michael Terrones. During the welcoming, Sheriff Brown shared that SHERIFF stands for Service, Honor, Ethics, Respect, Integrity, Fairness and Faithfulness.  He said, “Live up to those values and you will have an exciting, enjoyable, and rewarding career.”

Next, Sheriff Brown congratulated seven staff members who were being promoted and said “The caliber and quality of our people is such that the competition for promotion is always very tough. Those who emerge successfully from this rigorous process are to be congratulated, and that is what today is all about.”

Juliette Arevalo, and Tammie Bakke were promoted to Administrative Office Professional Senior, Paulina Mach-Lau and Kristie Velasco were promoted to Department Business Specialist, Anthony Kouremetis and Christopher Roy were promoted to Sheriff’s Sergeant, and Sean Dugger was promoted to Custody Lieutenant.
