Lompoc, Calif. – A Cabrillo High School student has been arrested for possession of a handgun on campus. On Thursday, March 28, at approximately 12:12 pm, School Resource Deputy Dunn at Cabrillo High School contacted 18-year-old student Jesus BarajasLemus in the school office for a probation search and found him in possession of a loaded handgun that is not registered to him.
BarajasLemus was arrested and will be booked at the Northern Branch Jail. His bail amount and booking charges are pending. Cabrillo High School was not asked to take any protective measures as the student was arrested contemporaneous to the discovery of the handgun. SRD Dunn has been working together with Cabrillo School Administration on this case in a continued effort to ensure the safety of the students and staff. There are no additional campus safety concerns directly related to this incident.
